BEVERLY HILLS:
The mun2 Hook Up program has received the Reality Vision Award awarded by the
National Association for Multi-ethnicity in Communications. The presentation was made April 17 at
the organization’s 15th Anniversary 2009 Creative Summit/Vision
Awards at the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills.
The mun2 Hook Up is a weekly 30-minute reality show, directed by Ernesto Quintero of Higher Ground Entertainment where young Latinos get the chance of a lifetime to get hooked up with their hero for a day. Inspired fans are taken through the basics of what it takes to make their dreams come true. They walk away with a new appreciation for what success truly means and the tools to start their new venture.
On hand to
congratulate the cable network mun2 and the production team for winning this
prestigious award was Rick Quintero, job coach of the award-winning show. The show was up against other popular
networks such as BET and VHI, and was the only Latino show to be nominated in
the Reality category. Quintero said this confirms that The mun2 Hook Up is not only impacting the youth it ‘hooks
up’ and its viewers, but is also gaining respect by organizations such as
NAMIC.

MIAMI: Los Angeles native Elizabeth Gutierrez is turning in a terrific performance in her dual role as a successful businesswoman and tough undercover cop in Telemundo's top-rated telenovela El rostro de Analia. Although this is her first major leading role, Gutierrez has distinguished herself in other Spanish language novelas, including Olvidarte Jamas, and Acorralada. Although she is completely fluent in Spanish, the 5’9” beauty’s first language is English, which she has utilized in her appearances in programs such as Deal or No Deal and The Price is Right.
She currently resides in Miami, where the
telenovela is taped, with her young son (Christopher Alexander) whose father is
up and coming actor William Levy. Together for the past six years, the handsome
couple first met in Protagonistas de novela 2, a reality program similar to Big
Brother that serves as a talent show for gifted people who want to become
actors.
Levy is currently filming Sortilegio opposite veteran actress Jacqueline Bracamontes, whose popular telenovela Las Tontas No Van al Cielo airing on Univision is just winding up. A native of Cuba, Levy immigrated to Miami when he was 15 years old. He attended college on a baseball athletic scholarship, but dropped out after two years to pursue his dream of becoming an actor.
He has studied acting in Miami, Los Angeles and Mexico City.
He debuted on the
Univision Network with a Venevision International production: Olvidarte Jamas. Later, he
appeared in Mi Vida Eres Tu and Acorralada, also broadcast by Univision.
The renowned Mexican television producer Carla
Estrada gave Levy the opportunity to break into Mexican television by casting him in Pasion, one of her
epic productions starring Fernando Colunga. Levy's popularity led to acquiring his first lead role in Cuidado con el Angel.
In 2008, he participated in his first film
Retazos de Vida, filmed in Ecuador and directed by Viviana Cordero.
People en Español magazine named him one of Los 20 Solteros Más Sexys in 2006 and one of Los 50 Más Bellos in 2008. In Mexico, hetopped the list of Los 12 Hombres Más Sexys published by the magazine Quién in 2008.
It is quite likely that Levy will remain in Mexico for some time and word is that he will soon be joined by Gutierrez and their young son. (Pictured: William Levy)
