June 2 was my 5th Grade Promotion. In my class, I was first to get my certificate. We got to sing three songs: "My America," "The Ride of Paul Revere" and "Left, Right." My favorite song was "Left, Right" because we got to move more in it and do funny things when we were singing it. I also liked being first in my class to get my certificate. My family was proud of me when the principal said I had perfect attendance.
We also did pop ups. Pop ups are when somebody stands up and says something about their school and then someone else says something. Then they did Outdoor Science School couplets, which people turned in about the O.S.S. field trip. And if they were good couplets, they got picked to do at Promotion. Then somebody on stage would reenact them as they read it out loud.
Then after that my grama (Sandy) and me went out to lunch at Fuddruckers, then saw the movie "Up." I saw a lot of people from my school there. It was a great movie, even voted best movie of the year.
Then I got a Diary of a wimpy kid, a do-it-yourself book, and went home and watched TV, played outside, played with my dog and played video games. Then I decided to stay up all night, but it didn't work because I fell asleep.
Overall, it was a great Promotion. Now, I'm ready to move on.
